Broken lens

Hi everyone

It's been a while since I've been around but with problems that came up it hasn't been easy.
Anyway ^^ I bought myself a FAT XBOX 360, which had a drive problem, I thought why not, since I have a stingy brother might as well buy an xbox ^^

XBOX message unreadable disc.

So I thought it must be related to a calibration issue, my brother had had this problem, by the way Mister doesn't like me touching his console except to fix it ^^ and I recalibrated the lens since then it works really well.

So like I was saying I thought it was related to that, so I open the console, then the drive, a Hitachi, and there I see that the screws are dead, completely shot impossible to remove them, turn them or anything else.

And my question is how much would the lens cost me? And should I not switch to a different drive? Knowing that I'd like to flash it while I'm at it ^^

EDIT: If anyone could also give me a site to buy a not too expensive drive

and for a SATA cable?

Hi little solina

still stuck in a mess from what I can see

For your drive:
if you can't manage to open it I don't see how to change the lens.
To change the drive you absolutely have to go through a flash.
Have you thought about an RGH? (a bit like the wii. On hdd)

For the drive I manage to open it, it's the calibration screws for the optical block that are dead ^^ I think that's where the fault comes from.
Yes I had thought of the RGH but I didn't want to pay that much extra given that changing the drive is already going to be tough ^^

There must be a reference on the lens. Give it. Also give the exact reference of the drive.

With your drive's reference, I find on ebay.com, drives for $25 and lenses for around $7 but the lens reference doesn't match what you gave. I have HD-63 or HD-67

Noooooo to change the drive you have to do a flash because of the keydvd

I took the lens apart ^^ the screws are indeed dead

however I notice the connector is different

maybe you made a small mistake while disassembling.

so I'm going to change the lens ^^
As for the connector, I removed it from the lens so it's normal it's not the same ^^ As for the ribbon cable I still have it

I just hope I won't make a mistake desoldering the antistatic point, I don't think I'm very good at that
