Hi everyone, so for a few days now, I've had an issue with my JTAG, it's giving me nasty big Red Eyes (not happy the JTAG) and me neither by the way, I wanted to know if it's easily repairable, at first it was freezing during games and the next day it started doing this famous Eyes thing, I don't even have access to the dashboard or Xell anymore, so what would you advise me? knowing that I'm scared to mess with it myself, sell it? get it repaired? or still try to repair it myself

it depends on the error code .... Mamule made a tutorial ---> HERE

Then there are repair kits ... I personally use the team xecuter one ---> HERE and so far it's working pretty well. Mine is a RROD xbox and it's held up ever since. Then again it's also a matter of luck!!!!

Oddly enough it doesn't show me an error code, just a black screen and the 3 red lights.

a little heat gun action like for the ps3, a kit and a change of thermal paste (artic silver powaaaaaaaa 6.50€ at internity) should make your problem disappear

Just out of curiosity, are you in HDMI or YUV? Try switching to see .... you never know ... and there's necessarily an error either visible on screen (and usually that's not good) or via the procedure to follow! Try again, it should work otherwise I don't see how to help you further. Sorry ...

Hi, here's the error code I have, and I'm not in HDMI, I'm in YUV with the cable with the 5 colors and the choice between TV and HDTV, I've tried everything but it's always the same.

4-1-1-4 ... I think .... so 0-1-1-0 ....

Which means:

Error 0110: RAM chip / motherboard contact broken
Bad contact and/or soldering of the RAM chips.

You have a Jtag, there might be a bad contact ... For me, it's not definitively dead! You need to try a repair, especially a JTAG!!!!

So it needs to be repaired by a specialist, I couldn't do that alone, I don't have the gear to carry out the repair

Uh, I guarantee you it doesn't take much gear and it seems to me that with the team xecuter kit, you get the tools included to open the console ... Then it's up to you

Good news (but for how long) I used this method "the cotton swabs" ^^ momentarily of course, just enough time to fix it up properly

And right now it's working again

My console was standing up before the rrod
I used the cotton swab method "console lying down"
It stopped after about 8 minutes but it had 2 red LEDs still blinking and yet no noise
It rested for about 20 minutes
I plugged it back in but still lying down
And Tadam it works :p
but I have an issue lol since my furniture isn't big enough I had to improvise
PS3 console standing all the way left, Wii all the way right + External hard drive + Router
All that takes up space so I set it up like this
360 JTAG lying down and right above it I put my non-hacked 360 Elite lying down
I know it's not good but what do I risk if I leave them like that?

Never seen this technique .... all the better if it works ... As for your question, personally I never stack devices on top of each other ... console, dvd player ... etc .. my xbox is also lying down. And none of my consoles are shut inside furniture ... especially not the xbox, it needs to be able to vent otherwise you'll get treated to a nice ROD once again!

At least I taught you something lol, all the consoles are on top of the TV furniture so not shut in either.

Well it's a temporary trick like I said, since it just did it again but I turned it back on and it's working again ^^
