Help on E3 Flasher

Good evening!

I'd just like to have a clear idea before making a mistake. My brother is traveling to China and I'd like to order him an E3 Flasher but I heard there were a lot of versions. So, I'd like to know which version to order that will be compatible with almost all PS3 consoles.

An image would really be clearer and sharper

there are 2 versions. 1 for the fats, 1 for the slims. on the other hand not all ps3s are compatible

Hi indeed not all consoles are compatible, the simplest way to know is to check with your console's serial number!

Why check the serial number again, you mean not all slims are compatible with the E3, with the slim versions?

Edit: I read somewhere that you needed a dongle alongside, is it included or bought separately?

PS3 Slims are compatible with the PS3 E3flasher chip except the 3xxxx versions and version 3.55!

I agree about the 3.55 but for the 3xxxx, is there no solution yet?

And regarding the dongle?

Well for the 3xxx I haven't found anything yet and for the dongles I'm refining my search but I lean toward the true blue!

I'm talking about the downgrade of the E3 Flasher, do you need to add the dongle to do it?

I think it depends on the E3 pack you get with or without the Esata station!

you check the serial number because it tells you the 2 pieces of info you need:
- memory type: nand or nor. nand being incompatible and only found on the fats.
- original firmware version. like for the psp, you can't downgrade below the firmware version it shipped with from the factory.

Oops I saw that for the nands you could do it by soldering 34 wires what do you think?

Mirouf, I don't care about the DualBoot and I just want a pack that will let me just downgrade my Slims which I hope will be compatible

I'd like to know if the E3 Flasher will support Sony's upcoming updates, if so I think I'll order one and yes I'm on 4.11.

We can't know if the E3 flasher will support future updates.

We can downgrade from 4.11 to 3.55 but not all PS3s are E3 compatible and aren't necessarily downgradable.
