Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D goes native on PC, Android and iPhone

Ocarina ReTuned recompiles Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D into a native single-screen game for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iPhone and Apple TV.

The 3DS Zelda, with no emulator

Ocarina ReTuned, by OTPR26, came out as preview 0.1.0 on 22 October 2026. It turns The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, the 2011 3DS remake, into a native program: the game's code is translated for the machine that runs it instead of being emulated. The project starts from TriAevum, which provides that translation, and adds the interface ofOcarina ReFramed, by the same author: everything fits on a single screen, inventory and map included, whereas the 3DS had two.

What it brings
  • an adjustable internal resolution andinterpolation up to 60 fps;
  • high-definition dialogue fonts, and custom texture packs support;
  • touch controls on Android and iPhone, and controllers everywhere;
  • on Android, since 0.1.2 on 23 October,importing Citra and Azahar saves and exporting them as a zip.

What you need

You need your own decrypted ROM of the game, US version only, as a.3ds or.cci file. The downloads contain neither a ROM nor a prepared game: on first launch, the program builds the game on your device from your ROM with the bundled compiler, which can take a while.
  • Windows and Android: everything is included, preparation happens on the device;
  • Mac (Apple silicon, macOS 15) and Linux: you also need CMake, Ninja and a C++ compiler;
  • iPhone and Apple TV: you need a Mac with Xcode to prepare the game, then your own signing to install it. The.ipa file alone is not enough.
This is a preview: the author warns that things are rough, and 0.1.4 mostly adds diagnostics for a startup crash on some Android phones. To play your other 3DS games, see our Azahar tutorial.
