RPCS3: 80% of PS3 games playable on PC, Yakuza: Dead Souls included

PS3 emulator RPCS3 announces that 80% of PS3 games are now “playable” on PC. Yakuza: Dead Souls and Blitz: The League II crossed the line this week.

80% of the library

On 21 October 2026, the RPCS3 team announced that “80% of ALL PS3 games are now PLAYABLE on PC”. The team credits this to improved accuracy in CPU, GPU and PlayStation Move emulation, which moved many games into the “Playable” category of its compatibility list. It promises more big updates before the end of 2026.

The latest games to cross the line

• Yakuza: Dead Souls (20 October): its stability issues are fixed thanks to Yahfz, and a 60 fps patch by FlexBy is available. The emulated PPU was getting ahead of the SPUs and corrupting the game's memory.
• Blitz: The League II (19 October): elad335, lead developer, fixed a similar desync between the PPU and SPUs. If the game still crashes, the team advises deleting your old custom configuration and running the latest build.

The PS3's Cell pairs a main core (the PPU) with coprocessors (the SPUs), and these synchronization mismatches are one of the challenges of emulating it.

How to benefit

RPCS3 moves forward with daily builds: grab the latest one. We covered version 0.0.43 at the end of September, and the emulator even runs on a jailbroken PS5. You need the official PS3 firmware, downloaded from Sony, and your own games: everything is explained in our RPCS3 tutorial.
