ScummVM 2026.4.0 adds dozens of adventure games, including French classics: Benoît Sokal's Amerzone, Dracula: Resurrection and Louvre.
A release named “Never-slop”
Version 2026.4.0 of ScummVM, the program that runs old adventure games on today's computers and consoles, was tagged on 10 October 2026. Its name, “Never-slop”, sounds like a nod to the controversial AI-generated ports. The official announcement and the files for each system usually follow shortly after.
The newly supported games
And under the hood
Faster audio mixing, more accurate and lighter AdLib emulation, and support for Windows installers that were blocking some Nancy Drew games.
How to enjoy it
Simply copy the files from your own discs into a folder, then add it in ScummVM. The French versions of each game are not all guaranteed to work: check the game's page on the ScummVM wiki. ScummVM is also available for Android, iPhone and many consoles, including the Wii: see emulators on the Wii.
