Spider-Man: Edge of Time on PC: a native port reaches version 1.0
Never released on PC, Spider-Man: Edge of Time (2011) is finally coming to it thanks to EdgeOfTimeRecompiled, a native port built from the Xbox 360 version.
A recompilation, not an emulator
EdgeOfTimeRecompiled was released in version 1.0.0 on 4 October 2026, for Windows, Linux (AppImage) and macOS (Apple silicon). The project, led by Graine25, uses the kit ReXGlue: it translates the Xbox 360's PowerPC code into C++ compiled for PC, and converts the console's shaders. The game therefore runs as a genuine PC program, with no emulator.
What the PC version brings
What you need
The port contains no game files: you need your own copy of the US Xbox 360 version, dumped from your disc, along with its title update. The Identity Crisis downloadable content is optional. On the PC side: an AVX-capable processor (Haswell, Bulldozer or newer), a DirectX 12 or Vulkan 1.2 graphics card, 8 GB of memory and 10 GB of disk space. To dump your games, see our tutorial Xbox 360: copying your games to a hard drive.
A second project running in parallel
Another port, Project 2099 by GenryTheFox, appeared in mid-September, also based on ReXGlue, for Windows only, with a launcher and a mod manager. Its GitHub repository vanished a few days after the account was flagged, before coming back; its author notes that nothing pointed to a complaint from the publisher. The two projects are progressing side by side.
After the Zelda, Mario and Melee decompilations, this is one of the first Xbox 360 games to get this treatment: static recompilation is reaching a new generation of consoles.
