Does everyone remember Bootmii?! I imagine so, but you never know. Let's do a quick refresher...
Bootmii would allow running code before your Wii boots up. That is, we would be able to launch a homebrew located on the SD card, or directly launch the Homebrew Channel! Of course without going through the system menu!

Now that this little refresher is done, let's get back to the main news!
The Team Twiizer is calling on all of us!
In order to improve the compatibility of BootMii, they need to know as many as possible (if not all) of the Boot1 and Boot2 that exist. To do this, they offer on their site a file " bootmii_check.elf " which, once launched via the Homebrew Channel, would send the necessary information about our Wii to their server (from what I understood, it's something like that).
For more information, go straight to the source: BootMii Checker

I might, probably even, come across as paranoid, but honestly that scares me, I know we can trust the twizzers team ^^, but I won't be using it....
With that they'll find out very fast if you flashed your wii by installing the backup launcher and they're 100% against it, moreover they call Waninkoko a troublemaker
I didn't launch it either
Maybe this bootmii is an excuse to mess up our Wiis, if they see we've installed things they're against, paranoid ? me neither ^^, and what if they'd struck a pact with Nintendo?
Honestly if they do that.... That would really be way too much...
But well I don't think they'd go as far as doing that. It wouldn't bring them anything, it would just be ratting out thousands of people, for fun... (Still, that would be quite the move... )
Notes: BootMii Checker will not work on Wiis running System Menu 3.4. However, BootMii itself will work on this version once it is released.
EDIT: new information has been given to us on hackmii.com!
Marcan posted a new article explaining the different ways to install BootMii (BootMii as boot2 / BootMii as SysMenu IOS / BootMii as IOS) and comparing their effectiveness on specific points such as:
- Brick resistance
- Resistance to (Nintendo) updates
- Update safety
- Code execution
- Complexity
- " Low-level install "
- " Compatible with return "
(Sorry for the crude translation... ^^)
From what I understood about "BootMii as Boot2", it would be the most powerful and effective, because to block it Nintendo would need to update Boot2, which has never been done before! More detailed information and arguments are available on their site!
I'll let you check out the post in question: HERE!
Anyone who can add to the little information I've provided, I'd be grateful to them!
- " Low-level install "
- " Compatible with return "
(Désolé pour la vulgaire traduction... ^^)
