Psgrade, The Free Downgrade For All

zaxis, a member of PSX-Scene brings excellent news today.
He worked meticulously on an open source downgrade method, called "PSGrade".
Today, he shared his work with the public. However, it still needs work before it's fully functional.

Currently, his code still requires the "Dongle Master Key", a key that is at the very core of the PS3 console.
The good news is that zaxis thinks this key could be recovered via fw 3.15.
He needs your help, anyone with a console on 3.15 can help recover this key. Once recovered, PSGrade should be fully functional.

Below is his request for help:
For everyone who wants to help, here's what you need to do:

1 - Launch the PSGrade that I posted.
2 - Reboot into linux (no power cycle!)
3 - Dump the HV (and post it)

If you don't know how to dump the HV under Linux, do a Google search (you'll need to open your PS3 and solder, IF YOU ARE NOT AN EXPERT AT SOLDERING, DO NOT DO ANYTHING!)

Once you have the key, post it in a key.h file and try it.

But remember, this is just a work in progress (so don't ask for a .hex file), and moreover, nothing is guaranteed.

Oh, and a big thanks to graf_chokolo for... everything, Hansi for the dump, and mathieulh for PSGroove (PSGrade is a derivative of PSGroove) as well as everyone else.

According to graf_chokolo, for the PS3 to be able to decrypt the master key, you need to use the "Verify Response" call, and the master key will be saved to a plain text file. This call is triggered when you insert the Jig (Sony dongle that lets you enable service mode), and that's what PSGrade is.
Once we have the key, we'll have a fully functional Jig
On the other hand no need for help on a 3.41 since it's no good, even if you've already dumped the HV.

Il a travaillé minutieusement sur une méthode de downgrade open source, appelé "PSGrade".
Aujourd'hui, il a partagé son travail avec le public. Cependant, cela nécessite encore du travail avant qu'il ne soit entièrement fonctionnel.

Une fois que vous avez la clé, postez là dans un fichier key.h et essayez là.

Mais souvenez vous, ce n'est qu'un projet en cours (donc ne demandez pas de fichier .hex), de plus, rien n'est sûr.

Ah oui, et un grand merci à graf_chokolo pour... tout, Hansi pour le dump, et mathieulh pour PSGroove (PSGrade est un dérivé de PSGroove) ainsi que tous les autres.
