anyway I'm re-posting a help topic because I couldn't find on the forum the A to Z hack for the PS3.
I had indeed found it for the wii but here
I got the PS3Key V2 Silabs which let me go back to 3.41 (I was on 3.42).
I also jailbroke the PS3 via the Hermes v4 firmware.
But then after that I'm totally lost...I read here and there that I need to install the gaia manager 1.41 software or others...uh which one should I pick actually?. And how does launching games work (there too I'm lost). The only thing I've done is put my downloaded games on a 500GB external HDD after creating the GAMEZ folder at the root...

J'ai également jailbreaker la PS3 via le firmware Hermes v4.
Mais alors après je suis totalement perdu...Je lis à droite à gauche qu'il faut installer le logiciel gaia manager 1.41 ou autres...euh lequel prendre en fait ?. Et comment fonctionne le lancement des jeux (la aussi je suis perdu). Seule chose de faite c'est d'avoir placé mes jeux téléchargé sur un DD externe de 500GO en ayant crée le dossier GAMEZ à la racine...

otherwise you made things much more complicated by downgrading your ps3 than by installing a manager, congrats to you, I'll now give you the info you're after.
-choice of backup manager: open manager 2.1i, multiman and gaia are the three most used and fully functional, multiman however has more features but do you need them? you'll find the latest versions of these three managers and their features here on the forum in the "news" section
-installation: after downloading the files and extracting them you'll get pkg files, you need a usb key that you'll format in fat32 and at its root you'll place your manager's pkg file. start your console in jailbreak mode with just your dongle, no usb key or external hdd plugged in for now!!!
once the console's xmb appears on your tv screen you can insert your usb key containing the pkg file into a usb port, then select "Install Package Files" and your manager's pkg file, there your manager is installed.
all that's left is to plug in your external hdd and launch your manager, the games will appear.
careful not all games work on external hdd, some only work on internal hdd, you'll find a list of games in the "ps3 games" section.

-intallation:aprés le telechargement des fichiers et décompréssion tu vas avoir des fichiers pkg,il te faut une clef usb que tu formateras en fat32 et a la racine de celle ci tu placeras le fichier pkg de ton manager.tu démarre ta console en mode jailbreak avec juste ton dongle,pas de clef usb ni de dd externe branché pour l'instant!!!
une fois le xmb de la console apparue sur ton écran télé tu peu placer ta clef usb contenant le fichier pkg dans un port usb,ensuite tu sélectionne"Install Package Files" et le fichier pkg de ton manager,voila ton manager est installé.
il ne te reste plus qu'a brancher ton dd externe et lancer ton manager,les jeux apparaitrons.
attention tous les jeux ne fonctionne pas sur dd externe,certains ne fonctionne qu'en dd interne,tu trouveras une liste de jeux dans la section"jeu ps3".
votre ps3 vous appartient,faite en ce que vous voulez!!!!

after your console starts in Jb mode you can unplug your dongle!!

aprés que ta console démarre en mode Jb tu peux débrancher ton dongle !!

is your error when you launch gaia or when you launch a game? if it's when launching a manager then your ps3 is badly jailbroken, redo the procedure while respecting the timing between the on/off button and eject (not too fast, not too slow lol), also quite a few problems with this team's updates for their key, redo your key's update with the 4.5 (if the jailbreak is good it stays red).
is your external hdd properly formatted in fat32?

C'est juste qu'il laisse son dongle branché a la console bon déjà commence par débrancher ton dongle juste après le JB . ensuite je te conseille de prendre Open manager 2I-2 et de crée un dossier GAMEZ a la racine de ton Hdd (fat32) . "HDD:\GAMEZ\BLESXXXX"
