Man vs Machine isn't the best-known FPS right now, but its engine allows 999 players to face off at the same time.
The company MuchDifferent had said a couple of words at the end of last week: the folks actually wanted to enter the Book of Records by bringing together 1000 players on a single dedicated server for their first-person action game, Man vs. Machine.
Based on the engine Unity and the technology PikkoServer, the game managed to set a record on that front, even though the feat was limited to 999 players.
With 999 participants, the battles are inevitably a free-for-all, but the result is there, and it's light years away from the small skirmishes offered on Battlefield 3 (64 players maximum)!
