[QUESTION] Avoid redundant registration on a forum

Hello everyone!

I have a forum (https://www.wetdoufwha.net)

And several times a day, intruders sign up (more often coming from russia or the US) and spam ads all over the forum.

So most of the time I ban their IP address and disable their account, but I have a question:

How can I simply stop them from signing up!!?

Set up a really nasty Captcha, they'll go have fun elsewhere!

I gave him a smack... No I'm kidding, but there you go, sorry.

We put in a more advanced captcha and protected registrations with a question.
Then accounts are activated only via a confirmation email.
And one last thing we have an antiflood filter for every message posted.

There are also other possible protections, like a mandatory introduction otherwise no ability to post messages... white and black IP lists....

Think about installing all that and you'll eliminate at least 60% of the bots.
