Stoker25 has published a new version of his application that lets you temporarily patch your PS3 console's ID and thus, in theory, allow a banned PS3 to reconnect to PSN.
Features:
Displays your current PSID
Displays your current ConsoleID
Patches the PSID from a dev_usb/psid.txt file
Patches the Console ID from a dev_usb/consoleid.txt file
Patches ConsoleID (line 2) with a random number
Choice of USB device
Should save your PSID to dev_usb/orig_psid.txt
The application uses the peek & poke syscalls to patch your PSID.
Make sure you're using a payload that supports syscalls.
Usage:
Install the pkg
Launch PSIDPatch
Press Cross to patch the PSID with a random number, or Square to patch your Console ID.
If you want to use your own PSID/Console ID:
Create a text file named psid.txt and consoleid.txt at the root of your USB device
In this file, enter 32 hexadecimal characters (e.g.: 1234567890ABCDEFFEDCBA0987654321) for the PSID and 64 characters for the ConsoleID.
Launch PSIDPatch
Select the USB drive with the Up or Down arrows
Press R1 to patch...
Note: the PSID starts at memory address 0x800000000044A18C (3.41) or 0x800000000045218C (3.55) with a length of 16 bytes.
News and fixes:
It seems there are 2 additional locations in LV2 where your ConsoleID is stored. This new version modifies these as well...
Warning: the PKG for this version only works with firmware 3.55. Download
Be careful anyway, the guys don't mention bricking but if I were you I'd be very very careful it still seems weird to me....
