[OUTDATED] how to make/read a multi-iso DVD for wii games

hello everyone
created by DACK on GBAtemp
a small piece of advice, make copies of your isos so you don't destroy them
and use the copies to do the following
you can delete them once the job is done

I also recommend games like wii-sport wii-play wii-chess etc (there are plenty to check with wiiscrubber 1.4 as described further below) that are only 300-400 mb which lets you fit a bunch on a single DVD

first of all you'll need to download the pack wiiscrubber 1.40

in the same folder decompress the following two archives
makekeyBin1.1
wiiscruber 140

first open makekeybin type in the number shown (42 for me) and generate
then open wiiscruber

let's move on to the serious stuff

click on load iso and choose your iso (the copy)
you'll be able to see the real size of the game in the top right
there's no point taking games that are too big if you won't be able to fit several games on the dvd anyway, up to you
then right click on the DATA partition and do "shrink"
say yes and wait for the extraction to finish
at the end right click again on the DATA partition and crypted partition->save (I saved it in the same original file)

repeat the operation for each game you want to put on the same DVD

now we need to create the multi-game iso

take any wii iso which will become your future multi-iso
right click on each partition and delete partition
repeat for ALL the partitions

once this is done right click on WII DISC and import -> crypted
choose your crypted file (game)
for the first one choose 0
then repeat for each crypted file (game) changing the number
in partition 0 we put only one game
I believe but I'm not sure that in the others you can put several, up to 3 to try

now all that's left is to burn your iso as usual

the big moment has arrived, how to play all this

in the pack take the multiboot archive and decompress it in the app folder of your sd

launch the program
you'll need to set the right ios since it's on ios36 by default
for those without a modchip like me it's ios249 with the directional pad, once done press A choose your game and there you go it's on my KIKI

un petit conseil faites des copies de vos isos pour ne pas les detruires
et utilisezr les copies pour faire ce qui suit
vous pourrez les suprimer une fois le boulot terminé

je vous conseille également des jeux comme wii-sport wii-play wii-chess ect (y'en a plein a verifier avec wiiscrubber 1.4 comme decrit plus bas) qui ne font que 300-400 mo ce qui permet d'en mettre un paquet sur un seul DVD

tout d'abord il va falloir telecharger le pak wiiscrubber 1.40

en premier ouvrir le makekeybin taper le chiffre indiqué (42 pour moi) et generate
ensuite ouvrir wiiscruber

passons aux choses serieuses

klick sur load iso et choisir votre iso (la copie)
vous pourrez voir la taille réelle du jeux en haut a droite
il ne sert a rien de prendre des jeux trop gros sous peine de ne pas pouvoir mettre plusieurs jeux sur le dvd enfin a vous de voir
ensuite klick droit sur la partition DATA et faites "shrink"
dites yes et attendre la fin de l'extraction
a la fin re klick droit sur la partition DATA et crypted partition->save (moi jai saugarder dans le meme fichier de depart)

recommencer l'operation pour chaque jeux que vous voulez mettre sur le même DVD

maintenant il va falloir créer l'iso multi-jeux

prendre un iso wii quelconque qui deviendra votre futur multi-iso
klick droit sur chaque partition et delete partition
recommencer pour TOUTES les partitions

une fois ceci terminé klick droit sur WII DISC et import -> crypted
choissisez votre fichier cryted (jeux)
pour la premiere choisir 0
ensuite recommencer pour chaque fichier crypted (jeux) en changant de chiffre
dans la partition 0 on met un seul jeux
je crois mais suis pas sur que dans les autre on peut en mettre plusieurs jusque 3 à essayer

maintenant il vous reste a graver votre iso comme d'habitude

le grand moment est arrivé comment lire tout ça

dans le pack prendre l'archive multiboot la décompresser dans le dossier app de votre sd

lancer le programme
il va falloir mettre le bon ios car il est sur ios36 par défaut
pour les non puce comme moi c'est le ios249 avec la croix directionnelle une fois terminé appuyer sur A choisir votre jeux et voila c'est parti mon KIKI

That seems pretty complicated to me, anyway for now I don't burn wii isos anymore, so I'd rather wait for an improvement of this system

Ca ma l'air bien compliqué, de toute facon pour l'instant je ne grave plus d'iso wii, alors je prefere attendre une amelioration de ce systeme

a little extra tip
you can also put pal and ntsc games on the same disc
then you just need to select
1 the game
2 force it to ntsc if necessary

also I noticed that the game from partition 0 shows up in the disc channel

un tit truc en plus
on peut également mettre des jeux pal et ntsc sur le même disque
ensuite il suffit de sélectionner
1 le jeux
2 le forcer en ntsc si nécessaire

no no in partition "0" you only put 1 game
then in 1-2-3 you can fit up to three, I tried it, it works

J'ai gaché 2,5go

that's awesome, you can fit up to 10 games on a DVD (1 in part 0 and 3 in parts 1,2,3) within a limit of 4.5G total!!! But not all games work for now (e.g. mysims kingdom and animal crossing don't start).
Maybe a problem with the HB multiboot (I don't think so because they don't start from the official channel with the Cioscorp either when putting them in first place on the DVD [part 0] even though they should) or the wiiscrubber's shrink, a revision would be welcome but this is only the beginning.
Bravo to the creator and to Doslu for the tutorial.
PS: Can't wait for multi-game launching in the official channel and compatibility with most games.

Question: do cheat codes work?

c'est trop fort tu peux mettre jusqu'à 10 jeux sur un DVD (1 en part 0 et 3 en parts 1,2,3 ) dans la limite de 4.5G au total !!! Mais tous les jeux ne passent pas pour l'instant (par ex mysims kingdom et animal crossing ne se lancent pas) .
Peut être un prob avec l'HB multiboot ( je ne penses pas car ils ne démarrent pas non plus de la chaine officielle avec le Cioscorp en les mettant en première place sur le DVD [part 0] alors qu'ils le devraient ) ou le shrink de wiiscrubber , une révision serait la bienvenue mais ce n'est que le début .
Bravo au créateur et a Doslu pour le tuto.
PS :Vivement le lancement dans la chaine officielle des multijeux et la compatibilité de la plupart des jeux .

Question : les cheats codes se lancent ils ?

hi, when I launch the multiboot from the HBC and try to switch from ios 36 to ios 249 it shows me a code dump and lots of numbers. For info my wii is on 3.2E with the cios pack. If anyone has a solution... Thanks in advance.

Do you have preloader and/or wiihome because it does that to me too when I choose a game in the multiboot.

As tu le preloader et/ou le wiihome car moi aussi ca me le fait quand je choisi un jeu dans le multiboot.

I disabled wiihome at startup and now it works

and it works
I don't know if some programs prevent it from working

I'm not sure but the last time I tried in "480i" there was a code dump and in "480p" it worked (or the other way around)

I'd have a question: How many MB can you fit on a DVD?
I tried to calculate first with a theoretical value of 4.7 GB which would give us 4.7*1024=4812.8MB
Then I inserted the dvd in my drive and it tells me there is 4.37 GB of free space on the disc which is nevertheless labeled 4.7 GB.
Anyway let me redo the calculation with a real value:
4.37*1024=4474.88
So I used this value to make my multi-discs, is that the right one?

PS: On some tutorials it's 4.7, on others it's 4.37 or something else

the dvd must be at most the size of a WII iso i.e. 4.37 GB (4,699,979,776 bytes)

but wiiscrubber must handle that since you use an empty iso image that is the right size
and you fill it with your files and it adjusts along the way

le dvd doit-etre au maxi d'un iso WII cad 4,37 Go (4 699 979 776 octets)

mais le wiiscrubber doit gerer ca vu que tu utilise une image iso vide qui fait la bonne taille
et que tu la remplit avec tes fichiers et ca reajuste au fur et a mesure

Thanks, there's a kind of limitation when you exceed 4.37 GB, a message appears, and it's still quite handy.
I managed to fit 6 games on the same disc, it's impressive how much you can fit in 4.37 GB!

Does anyone know how to determine which game will start on the disc channel when you make a wii multiboot disc with wii scrubber 1.4?

J'ai réussi à caser 6 jeux sur la même galette c'est impressionnant tout ce qu'on peut mettre sur 4.37 GO!
