When decompressing, WinRAR and 7Zip both find that the file \CRYO\ATLANTIS3\Datas\hnmdial\hnm800\bagdad\h2s1c1.hnm is corrupted. Also the archive analysis finds there are 7211 files, whereas once decompressed without the corrupted file, there are only 7209.
Otherwise excellent release. Better than the GOG version
GOG is based on the CD version, this DVD version has finer textures.

Lors de la décompression, j'ai WinRAR et 7Zip qui trouve que le fichier \CRYO\ATLANTIS3\Datas\hnmdial\hnm800\bagdad\h2s1c1.hnm est corrompu. En plus l'analyse de l'archive trouve qu'il y a 7211 fichiers, alors qu'une fois décompressé sans le fichier corrompu, il n'y en a que 7209.

GOG se base sur la version CD, cette version DVD a des textures plus fines.
Indeed someone already pointed out to me that this file was corrupted.
I indeed based my work on the DVD version of the game from a dump a subscriber sent me on Youtube.
That's when I learned about the huge difference in graphical quality between the CD version (present on GOG) and the DVD one (which is in "high resolution" for the time).
From there, I removed the security that checks for the DVD's presence (through several hex modifications in the EXE), fixed the famous bug that prevents saving (via a simple hex modification in the EXE). And of course made the game compatible with Windows 10 thanks to emulation of an Nvidia Geforce 4800 Ti graphics card via DGVoodoo2 which makes the game perfectly playable and bug-free.
If you ever get the chance look if you can get this file via a good, properly made DVD dump, where the file wouldn't be corrupted.
It doesn't seem to me though that it's used in the game. But I could be wrong!
PS: In a few hours I'm going to release a test version of the Extended's Cut for Atlantis Secret of a Lost World. If you've ever heard about it, it will be on GOG exclusively for the temporary public release but compatible with all versions for the beta test release.

Effectivement on m'avait fait remarqué que ce fichier était corrompu.
J'ai en effet basé mon travail sur la version DVD du jeu issu d'un dump qu'un abonné m'a passé sur Youtube.
C'est là que j'ai appris l'énorme différence de qualité graphique entre la version CD (présente sur GOG) et celle DVD (où c'est en "haute résolution" de l'époque).
A partir de là, j'ai supprimé la sécurité qui vérifie la présence du DVD (par plusieures modifications hexa dans l'EXE), corrigé le fameux bug qui empêche de sauvegarder (via une simple modification hexa dans l'EXE). Et bien sûr rendu le jeu compatible Windows 10 grâce à une émulation de carte graphique Nvidia Geforce 4800 Ti via DGVoodoo2 ce qui rend le jeu parfaitement jouable et sans bugs.
Si jamais tu as l'occasion regarde si tu peux avoir ce fichier via un bon dump DVD bien réalisé, où le fichier ne serai pas corrompu.
Il me semble pas néanmoins qu'il soit utilisé dans le jeu. Mais je peux me tromper !
PS : Je vais sortir d'ici quelques heures une version test de l'Extended's Cut pour Atlantis Secret d'un monde oublié. Si jamais tu en as entendu parlé. ça sera sur GOG exclusivement pour la release publique temporaire mais compatible toutes les versions pour release en beta test.

Great job. Everything works very well.
However the game Atlantis 3 launches in 16:9 (my screen's format), while the original game was in 4:3. As a result all the images (in-game and cutscenes) are squashed vertically. It's not a big deal but it makes the game look less nice.
Is there a solution to display the game normally?

Super boulot. Tout marche très bien.
Cependant le jeu Atlantis 3 se lance en 16:9 (format de mon ecran), alors que le jeu d'origine était en 4:3. Du coup toutes les images (en jeu et cinématiques) sont écrasées verticalement. Ce qui n'est pas très grave mais du coup le jeu parait moins joli.
Y a t'il une solution pour afficher le jeu normalement ?

Yes I don't have a handler yet to force Atlantis 2 and Atlantis 3 into 4:3.
However it's possible for you to force 4:3 via the NVIDIA/ATI settings directly. For NVIDIA:
- Open the NVIDIA control panel
- Go to "Display" => "Adjust desktop size and position"
- In "Scaling" => "Aspect ratio"
- "Perform scaling on:" => "GPU".
For AMD/ATI, it should be similar, I don't know the menus I don't have an ATI card.

Oui je n'ai pas encore de handler pour forcer Atlantis 2 et Atlantis 3 en 4:3.
Cependant c'est possible que tu force le 4:3 via les paramètres NVIDIA/ATI directement. Pour NVIDIA :
- Ouvre le panneau de configuration NVIDIA
- Va dans "Affichage" => "Régler la taille et la position du bureau"
- Dans "Mise à l'échelle" => "Rapport largeur/hauteur"
- "Effectuer la mise à l'échelle sur :" => "Processeur graphique".
Pour AMD/ATI, ça doit être similaire, je ne connais pas les menu je ne possède pas de carte ATI.
I can't manage to launch either Atlantis 2 or Atlantis 3, whether it's my GOG versions or the ones downloaded here. I get a white screen of death when launching both games and I have to completely exit Windows otherwise the PC is stuck. I did apply the Win 98 compatibility mode for Atlantis 2 though and for Atlantis 3 it doesn't work even setting XP SP3 as compatibility. On the other hand The Lost Tales Extended Cut works perfectly...

Je ne parviens pas à lancer ni Atlantis 2 ni Atlantis 3, qu'il s'agisse de mes versions GOG ou bien de celles téléchargées ici. J'ai un white screen of death au lancement des deux jeux et je dois complètement sortir de Windows sinon le PC est bloqué. J'ai pourtant bien appliqué le mode de compatibilité Win 98 pour Atlantis 2 et pour Atlantis 3 ça ne fonctionne pas même en mettant XP SP3 comme compatibilité. Par contre The Lost Tales Extended Cut fonctionne pafaitement...

The only menu that asks for the DVD is the one for choosing the language (audio and text).
Regarding these settings, they are temporarily externalized in .reg files.
Soon I'll offer the ability to set the subtitles/voice directly from the game's launcher.
This menu doesn't let you change any particular display. If you want to change the display it's in the menu before that one and it doesn't ask for the DVD. But careful, I strongly advise against changing the settings (they're already heavily optimized for the "HD" graphics of this special version).
The only thing that can be changed is the language of the subtitles and voices (together, the game doesn't handle them separately) via the .reg files.
If you want to disable the subtitles, it's in the first options menu there's an icon for that.
If you want to change the language of the subtitles/voice (the game handles subtitles AND voice together and not separately), run:
setup_englishUK.reg => British English voice and text
setup_englishUS.reg => American English voice and text
setup_french.reg => French voice and text
setup_german.reg => German voice and text
setup_russian.reg => Russian voice and text
Every time you run one, it changes the voice/text for the next launch.

Le seul menu qui réclame le DVD est celui du choix de langue (audio et textes).
Concernant ces paramètres, ils sont externalisés dans des fichiers .reg temporairement.
Prochainement je proposerai de pouvoir définir directement les sous titres/voix depuis le lanceur du jeu.
Ce menu ne permet pas de changer un affichage particulier. Si tu veux changer l'affichage c'est dans le menu précédent à celui là et il ne réclame pas le DVD. Mais attention, je déconseille fortement de changer les paramètres (ils sont déjà fortement optimisé pour les graphismes "HD" de cette version spéciale).
La seule chose qui peut être changé c'est la langue des sous titres et des voix (ensemble le jeu ne gère pas séparément) via les fichiers .reg.
Si tu veux désactiver les sous titres, c'est dans le premier menu des options il y a une icône pour ça.
Si tu veux changer la langue des sous titres/voix (le jeu gère les sous titres ET la voix ensemble et non séparément), tu lance :
setup_englishUK.reg => Voix et textes anglais britanique
setup_englishUS.reg => Voix et textes anglais américain
setup_french.reg => Voix et textes français
setup_german.reg => Voix et textes allemand
setup_russian.reg => Voix et textes russes
A chaque fois que tu en lance un, ça change la voix/textes pour le prochain lancement.
Indeed, it's the subtitles I want to disable.
The only problem with everything you just explained is that you absolutely have to go through the options menu (impossible to change subtitle activation via the .reg or .cfg file).
And that's, unfortunately, the moment I can't get back into the game after disabling the subtitles: the game systematically crashes with the DVD insertion error as soon as I close the options menu.
If you have a workaround to remove the subtitles without going through this menu, I'd take it, otherwise I'll wait for your fix.

Effectivement,c'est les sous-titres que je souhaite désactiver.
Le seul problème dans tout ce que tu viens de m'expliquer,c'est que il faut olbigatoirement passer par le menu des options (impossible de modifier l'activation des sous-titres via le fichier .reg ou le fichier .cfg).
Et là,malheureusement,c'est à ce moment que je ne peux retourner dans le jeu après avoir désactiver les sous-titres : le jeu plante systematiquement avec l'erreur de l'insertion du DVD dès que ferme le menu des options.
Si tu as une bidouille pour enlever les sous-titres sans passer par ce menu,je suis preneur,sinon j'attendrai ta modification.

I had a bit of free time, so I might as well make you a definitive crack directly on the game's exe.
My crack removes all DVD checks performed in the options menu.
You can now change all the settings and save them
The game will no longer ask for the DVD.
However my patch is a test version, please give me feedback on whether it works well.
That way I'll integrate it into the original pack. Also I haven't had time to redo the whole game, so don't hesitate to confirm if there's no issue in-game .

Mon crack te supprime toutes les vérifications DVD effectuées dans le menu des options.
Tu peux maintenant changer tous les paramètres et les enregistrer
Le jeu ne réclamera plus le DVD.
Néanmoins mon patch est une version test, merci de me donner un feedback de bon fonctionnement.
Ainsi je l'intégrerai au pack d'origine. De plus je n'ai pas eu le temps de refaire entièrement le jeu, donc n'hésite pas à me confirmer si ça pose aucun soucis en jeu .

I hope someone can help me because several searches about my problem have unfortunately come up empty.
I have what looks like a graphical bug, with both the GoG version and the version available above, and it appears right at the start of the game, when you meet the mummy and she gives us the casket.
From let's plays I found, I'm supposed to have the box up close, which opens when clicked, revealing a scarab.
For me, I get none of that, just the screen freezing. If I click, I do hear the box opening and a second right click puts me back in the game.
But nothing works, no way to display this object, even from the inventory. I haven't pushed further, afraid of missing something, or even getting stuck, unable to progress because of it.
I should mention I'm on Windows 7 64 bit, if that's at all relevant.

J'espère que quelqu'un pourra m'aider car plusieurs recherches concernant mon problème se sont malheureusement révélées infructueuses.
J'ai ce qui s'apparente à un bug graphique, à la fois avec la version GoG ainsi que la version disponible plus haut, et qui apparaît dès le début du jeu, lorsque l'on rencontre la momie et qu'elle nous donne l'écrin.
D'après des let's play que j'ai pu trouvé, je suis censé avoir la boîte en gros plan, qui s'ouvre en cliquant, laissant apparaître un scarabée.
Pour moi, je n'ai rien de tout ça, juste l'écran qui se fige. Si je clique, j'entends bien la boîte qui s'ouvre et un second clic droit me remet dans le jeu.
Mais rien à faire, pas moyen d'afficher cette objet, même depuis l'inventaire. Je n'ai pas poussé plus loin, par peur de rater quelque chose, voire de me retrouver bloquer, incapable de progresser à cause de cela.
Je précise que je suis sous Windows 7 64 bits, si cela a une quelconque pertinence.

In response to Fenton, indeed there is a display bug but it doesn't prevent progression.
Just click in the middle (where the scarab is supposed to be) and it will appear among the possible questions you have to ask the mummy.
We'll have to see if tgames can fix this bug or not.

En réponse à Fenton, effectivement il y a un bug d'affichage mais cela n'empêche pas la progression.
Il suffit de cliquer au milieu (là où est supposé être le scarabée) et il apparaîtra dans les questions éventuelles que tu dois poser à la momie.
Il faut voir si tgames peut résoudre ce bug ou non.

Well, small issue - the game doesn't seem to handle saving the settings.
I did change them, they work in-game but afterward, pfft! they go back to their original state (like for example subtitles removed).
This adds to the graphical bug described by Fenton.

Bon,petit souci - le jeu ne gère apparement pas la sauvegarde des paramètres.
J'ai eu beau les changer,ils fonctionnnent dans le jeu mais après,pfft ! ils reviennent à l'état d'origine (comme par exemple sous titres enlevés).

I just wanted to thank you for your work on the Atlantis games it's really superb. I have the gog versions but it's with yours that I'll play!
Also, I too had the problem where going back from options asks for the dvd, luckily the crack you provided works. Maybe you should put it more in the spotlight?
