What do we know?
Well, with the version of CiosCorp extracted from the latest versions of MiiWii or Softmii + a CIOS60BF file found in the latest versions of softmii or MiiWii, you can read backups with a Wii on 4.0 provided you have already installed cIOS 36 Rev8 (or 7). In fact, by using a wad installer that uses the Cios (Channel file manager or Wad manager 1.3..) to install the 21 wads, it works. But it will ask you to do an update if you leave it like that ^^. One solution, you can patch a patch into flash memory that blocks updates. But since it's in flash, you'll have to relaunch it every time you start your Wii.
Thanks to Aisen Sources: GBAtemps GBAtemps (for the patch) A big thanks to Aizen for the CIOS60HK and to Tgames for the menupatcher
damn but you forgot PS3 lol basically that's it he doesn't want to release it because there'd be no update protection (no preloader or starfall) so he doesn't want to risk a brick, he thinks there's already enough of that with waninkoko's firmware updater 4.
There's a MenuPatcher that patches in memory for the 4.0 system menu and blocks updates and also lets you read backups via the disc channel without going through CIOS CORP on 4.0 but that gets deactivated after closing the wii. So like before you need to launch the homebrew every time for it to work...

Uh actually I don't see the connection between cIOScorp, which modifies 21 IOS, and MiiWii and Softmii?
And by the way, what are MiiWii and Softmii?
And what's cIOS60HK for?

MiiWii and SoftMii are homebrew "packs" that install the essentials for you: cioscorps, cmios rev03, etc...
CIOS60HK is like CIOS60BF, it lets you use CiosCorp

Thanks for these clear answers.
But regarding the cIOS60, they're there to install cIOScorp, but does that mean they need to be added to the 21 wads pack?
