[PATCH] Patch No One Lives Forever 2 FR Windows 7/8/10

Since I was asked to upload a French Patch for No One Lives Forever 2 on youtube, here it is for the forum

The game is 100% compatible with Windows 7, 8 and 10.

Hello, the download link seems dead, it redirects to the Forum's main page, not many people seem to be interested in the game today but would it be possible to get an update of the download link for the patch please? Thanks!

Normally it's automatically in french, voices as well as text.
You just have to use the "Revival" version of NOLF2 for installation there: https://nolfrevival.tk/

Then once installed, you replace all the files with those from my pack.

The game will then be in french, you don't need to do anything else.

Only the window before the game launches will stay in english (the Windows launcher), I preferred to leave the modified exe from nolfrevival.tk.

Otherwise the voices, texts and menus are all in french.

A few months late I'll take the liberty of answering since I'm going to have time again to get my hands on games, it came from the version of the game I was using, with the Revival version everything works wonderfully, thanks a lot

I don't know if anyone will read me and if the site is still active...
First of all well done for bringing this great game back up to date and in french

I'm on W11 with a 32 inch 4K 16/9 screen

For my part I'm running into 2 issues:

1) the link to https://nolfrevival.tk/: now the game offered is this one: No One Lives Forever 1 GOTY Edition PC Full Download

The file is 450MB
I launched the install: OK the game can launch
However for the graphics settings to get it in full screen you have to stay at 1280*1024
All the other settings cause a split of the image (at the top, at the bottom, poorly centered, on the sides to be in 4/3 format)

I know this site doesn't directly offer the file but maybe someone here has the solution (I'm also going to post a comment on the youtube channel)

2) the FR patch offered here: the zip file is 1.89GB and unzipped 3.77GB - moreover it notably contains a setup - so I get the impression it's a full game of even bigger size than the one above - anyway I tried the copy/paste as indicated but it didn't work => HELP

Hello,

I strongly advise against installing this Fr translation patch which also allows playing in higher resolutions (HD), because it only causes problems. The title crashes randomly and out of nowhere, we're constantly (every 5-10 minutes max) sent back to the desktop with the message "Client MFC has stopped working". So, I somewhat fixed this issue by changing the compatibility of the launcher (.exe) which was by default on Windows XP Service Pack 3 by going into the application properties (right click on NOLF2 - properties, then compatibility tab, then check the box run this program in compatibility mode for and choose W7 if you're on W7), which had the effect of slightly reducing the frequency of crashes, but that unfortunately doesn't solve this issue entirely. And that's not all, plenty of other bugs are to be reported, some even make the game hardly playable. To name a few: there are big display bugs that suddenly appear sometimes when loading a save or after a certain time (part of the scenery disappearing, colors appearing, hello chapter 4), the script for some objectives to complete doesn't trigger (e.g.: saving and escorting the pilot in chapter 3, you're forced to leave and come back into the zone for the contextual interaction "talk to the pilot" to appear again, and this, several times for the script to progress, otherwise it refuses to talk to us), and finally the carry/drop bodies interaction to hide them simply doesn't work. When you carry a body, it's impossible to drop it, the contextual interaction "drop the body" doesn't appear or only appears after loading a save, but then no longer disappears once it's put on the ground, which means our character stays encumbered, in other words slow. I appreciate the initiative to make this kind of patch, but make sure the game works properly before putting it online, because as it stands, the game is practically unplayable.

By the way, I'd like to point out that I hadn't encountered any of these issues (small problem with a cut-off sentence though) with the first installment which I played with the Windows 10 OS (my other PC). I had however installed a small Fr translation patch taken from Traductionjeux.com.

The problems seem to be resolved, the game doesn't actually support 1920*1080, since I switched to 1600*1200, I no longer have any problem.

I spoke a bit too soon, regarding the MFC client that stops working every 5 minutes it seems to be better, unfortunately, I can't say the same about the display bugs which depending on the movement of our mouse (orientation of the aiming reticle) end up blinding us (we can't see anything anymore). To be seen for the rest now.

thanks so much for the translation, I have a bug however regarding carrying bodies... I'm going to test without the patch to see if it comes from that
