Automatically translated from French.

cdifan has released a new version of his emulator "CDI Emulator" 0.5.3 in Beta 7 (will expire on 2025/01/01)

List of changes:

Code: Select all

The following changes have been made between the version 0.5.3-beta6 and
this version 0.5.3-beta7 release:

- The built-in expiration date has been updated to 2025/01/01.

- A new debugger command "ewk" has been added to kill watch addresses.

- Additional help lines explaining parameters have been added for some
debugger commands.

- VDSC mode bit sampling timing has been changed to avoid some title
issues with using the -playcdi option due to different mode bit timing
(fixes Laserlords freeze on cdi220b12 and screen distortions on the
Engineering 5.0 disc).

- Pixel-based transparency processing has been improved to fix regression
with Shaolin's Road caused by a workaround for Jeopardy.

No other changes have been made. Saving the contents of the CD-i NVRAM
to a file is still supported.
Here is my patched version of his emulator:

As promised, here is my first "beta" patch that unbriddles completely the emulator of its blockages.

As specified, this is a first draft, thank you for reporting any potential bugs or issues depending on which bios used or game used (in comparison to the original bridled version of course -_- )

I'll look to make the "debug" mode functional again, which serves me as a vulnerability point to break the author's verification routines.

I'll explain, he has 2 blockages for the 3 mins:

- The nag screen
- An emulation freeze if a "Mono I" component is not found in the bios.

Now there are many places where this is checked during emulation. You can really see the desire to prevent the emulator from being hacked.
To save time (and I thank shu for giving me the lead), I modified certain routines to make the emulator believe it finds a "CCdiClock Mono-I".
I make it believe every frame (which is not optimal I agree). This completely breaks the debug mode.
But for a regular user, it doesn't interfere at all with using it to just play their games.

I'll do something cleaner in a next version ;).
