Taki Udon teases an FPGA Super Nintendo, after the SuperStation One

2026 update: Krikzz, the creator of the EverDrive, is also preparing hardware for the PS1: an emulated drive, no soldering; read on in our news story EverDrive creator Krikzz is working on a solderless PS1 ODE.

After the SuperStation One, an FPGA PlayStation, Taki Udon and RetroRemake appear to be preparing a Super Nintendo, judging by two images posted on 8 October.

Two images, one Reset button

On 8 October 2026, Taki Udon, co-founder of RetroRemake, posted a photo of an American Super Nintendo Reset button, with the message: “It’s time to run it back”. To a fan hoping for a different design, he replied with the button from the European and Japanese version: “Don’t worry, we have all regions covered”. The code name being reported is SSNT / SuperFPGA.

What we know, and what we don’t
  • Everything points to a console based on FPGA and reproducing the Super Nintendo at the hardware level, as the SuperStation One does for the PlayStation. It is not an official announcement yet.
  • No price, no date, no specifications: we don’t know whether there will be a cartridge slot, or what technical base it will be built on.
  • A choice of regions (American design or European and Japanese) seems to be planned.
The same week, RetroRemake opened pre-orders for a limited transparent edition of the SuperStation One, and put its memory card on sale for 20 dollars.

In the meantime

An FPGA Super Nintendo already exists: the SNES core of the MiSTer, one of its finest achievements. See our guide to getting started with the MiSTer. We will follow RetroRemake’s announcement.
